unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Contrary to the attitude of some of our elected official, our Constitution wasn’t written to give us those rights, but simply to guarantee them! They were given by our “Creator.” Who or what was our creator? It really doesn’t make any difference whether you subscribe to the “Big Bang” theory and, “Evolution” or the “Creation” theory, we all had a “Creator.” Something or someone created us! We all got here through the same portal. We all have those rights that Jefferson referred to. No one has the right to take them from us! Period!
Jefferson reaffirmed those rights when he wrote the “Bill of Rights” (the first ten Amendments to the Constitution.) I am currently exercising my First Amendment right to “freedom of speech”. My favorite Amendment though, is the Second Amendment: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the
people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
"Shall not be infringed" (according to all the dictionaries I have read) means that neither Congress, Obama, or anyone else has the power to prevent us from buying guns and ammunition. The Constitution however, does give Congress the power to require us to buy arms and ammunition and train! They exercised that power way back in 1792! To paraphrase; the law requires every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45 to get a gun and ammunition and train and join their State Militia! Imagine that!
Our elected officials over the past 100 years, or so, (on both sides of the aisle) have paid precious little attention to our Constitution. Many would like to do away with our Constitution and place us under "International Law". The current "powers that be", in particular, apparently are of the opinion that they can ignore our Constitution and enact whatever laws they please.
Well, I beg to differ with them! So, all you "gun grabbers", listen up! The Second Amendment is our "gun permit!' Like it or not, It's not just a Right, it's the Law of the Land!
I welcome and await your reply!
